St Louis

You could say that I have focused my attentions on the USA a little too much recently which is why this trip will be my last for a little while to give me a chance to see the rest of the world. But I could not turn down the offer of a rock concert, a baseball game all finished off with 4th of July celebrations with Gary in St Louis.
I arrived a little early and Gary still had some stuff to finish at work so I offered to help out installing a couple of servers. Well, I say help, but I pretty much got tangled up in the wires, so Gary introduced me to this fellow called Spongebob while he finished off.
At the end of the day we picked up Gary's daughter Holly and headed of to see my very first Baseball game. We went to see Gary's favourite team the Milwaukee Brewers and they won 4-1 against the St Louis Cardinals, whoop whoop!
Next on the agenda was a road trip up to Wisconsin (about 5 hours north of St Louis) but first we stopped to take a look at the 'huge stainless steel arch' on the Mississippi River which commemorates the Louisiana Purchase. In 1803, France's claim to the territory of Louisiana was purchased by the Unites States of America almost doubling it's size at the time and cost 15 million dollars. At 630 feet tall it is the tallest monument in the US.
I must say the highlight of the trip was the Rush concert, but maybe that was because of all the attention I got from the ladies in front of us! And to top the trip off there were the 4th of July festivities with fireworks and a barbecue.
I'd like to thank Gary and his family for taking such good care of me. I have had a wonderful few days. In fact when I got back to Torquay I was telling one of my sock monster friends about it, he booked a ticket to St Louis the very next day and we haven't seen or heard anything from him since!
