From Exeter to Exeter

My feet had hardly touched the ground from LA back to Exeter airport in the UK when I was invited to New hampshire in the USA to visit Kathleen and her family in their home town of...would you believe it...Exeter! What with the jet lag and arriving in the same place as you left, this traveling malarky can get very confusing!

This journey was to be my first on my own without a chaperone which was a little scary but I arrived safely and
Kathleen's kid's, Sophie and Michael immediately took me under their wing and I felt right at home with all the musical instruments around. I repaid my gratitude at having me by giving them a little rendition on the piano and guitar.

The following morning they took me out shopping in Exeter. Sophie and Michael were looking for toys so I hung around with these guys called 'ugly dolls' for a while. I wasn't too sure why they were named so, but they didn't seem to mind. They bought me up to speed on the recommended local haunts for such creatures like us, but somehow, I didn’t think I’d have time with my busy itinerary ahead of me.

The rest of the day was taken up with window shopping with Sophie and playing with Michael, although I was a little apprehensive when he told me to look into the wrong end of a canon. At first I wondered if this was to be my flight home!
The following day we spent in the house and I helped them out with a little gardening. Well, being a sock monster I don’t know an awful lot about gardening but some of Kate’s expertise must have rubbed off on me and I was soon in my element.
What with all the shopping, computer games and gardening I was one knackered little sock monster, so when the kids had gone to bed I had a chance to chill out and do some meditating with this geezer. I had to blow the candle with fear of catching my ears on fire though.

Sadly, my visit had come to an end. Sophie and Michael walked me back to the airport hand in hand. I will really miss them. And I think they will miss me too. I would like to thank them all for having me, I had a wonderful time.
